Merry Christmas!

Here's my super-easy-to-make wreath with peacock feathers. I wanted to do something a bit more organic and meaningful this year. I chose a twig base, which inspired me to dress it in bird feathers. Compassion is my keyword at the moment, so peacock feathers were perfect. The peacock, the national bird of India, is a symbol of beauty, prosperity, royalty, love, compassion, soul and peace. Its feathers are said to carry spiritual energy that can be used to assist people seeking balance and harmony in their lives and have been used in healing ceremonies for thousands of years in many cultures. And I think we could all do with a bit more compassion and harmony in these troubled times, right? A few goose feathers and pine cones found during my walks, some compulsory touches of gold found at the bottom of the Christmas box and I have a gorgeous wreath in no time at all.

I tied up the pine cones by inserting a brown cotton thread under the scales, then tied onto the wreath.

The feathers a simply pricked into the wreath. I wrapped around the golden ribbon last.
